BEDFORD – On Saturday, August 12, two people were arrested after a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputy spotted a vehicle at Revere’s Food & Fuel with an expired license plate.
The deputy stopped the driver 24-year-old Ashley Blackwell and her passenger 27-year-old Dustin Jackson.
The deputy then learned Blackwell was driving on a suspended driver’s license with a prior conviction. Jackson also had a suspended driver’s license so the vehicle was towed from the scene. But before being towed officers conducted a vehicle inventory and found two scales with crystal meth residue on it and other drug paraphernalia. Officers also found a clear plastic baggie containing 0.24 grams of crystal meth.
Both Jackson and Blackwell denied ownership of the scales or the drugs.
Blackwell and Jackson were arrested on a charge of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. Blackwell was also issued a summons for driving while her driver’s license was suspended with a prior conviction.
