MITCHELL – A Mitchell woman was arrested on charges of strangulation and domestic battery Sunday after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a fight at 124 East Deckard Drive in Mitchell.
The male caller reported that 23-year-old Aradia Setlak, of Mitchell, had hit and scratched him. He also reported he believed Setlak was high on meth.
When police arrived at 10:30 p.m. they found the male caller and Setlak in a bedroom. Setlak was holding a plate that she said had meth on it and it was hers. She also stated she had just smoked meth before the officers arrived.
The male told police Setlak had arrived at the home just a few hours ago and started arguing with him. He told Setlak he was going to go take a shower and she followed him to the bathroom. While he was getting ready to get in the shower she began hitting him and when he was turned she came up behind him and placed her hands around his neck, choking him.
The male had suffered a cut on his forehead and scratches on his shoulder. There was also redness on his neck.
The male signed a battery affidavit and she was transported to jail.
Police confiscated the plate and a broken glass smoking pipe of which both contained meth residue.
