BEDFORD – Two Bedford men were arrested Wednesday after deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and troopers with the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section received information from the Martin County Sheriff’s Department about the possible use and distribution of methamphetamine at a residence in the 2000 block of H Street in Bedford.
After an investigation, probable cause was established for the issuance of a search warrant for the home and surrounding property.
On Wednesday, August 16th, around 9:30 p.m., deputies and troopers executed that search warrant.
They located William Bradley, 36, of Loogootee, and Damon Meek, 31, of Shoals, in a shed behind the residence. Both men were sitting next to more than 5 grams of meth when police entered the shed.
Police seized meth, along with used and loaded hypodermic syringes, marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia. They also located a loaded .45 caliber handgun and other items associated with dealing narcotics.
Officers arrested Bradley on felony charges of dealing and possession of meth, methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe, and possession of marijuana.
Meek is also facing charges of possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a syringe.
There were five children under the age of 18 at the residence. The Indiana Department of Child Services responded to the scene. The children were removed from the home for placement with other family members.
