Bedford public transportation is in high demand

BEDFORD – The Bedford City Common Council received a report from Dennis Parley, Transportation Director for the City of Bedford Transportation Authority of Stone City (TASC), on the status of public transportation.

The TASC provides free public transportation via demand response, curb-to-curb, and reservation transportation services within the city of Bedford. These services continue to be free of charge or fees.

Dennis Parsley said that TASC is “getting back up to pre-covid numbers” and will soon be back to where they were with the continued high demand for public transportation in Bedford.

In 2023 from April to June, the TASC performed 6,622 trips and served 2,278 passengers.

The TASC has a total of five buses, with four running every day and the fifth ready to serve as a backup or as needed. The buses are accessible for wheelchairs and various other manually-powered mobility aids.

The TASC operates on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is closed on all federal holidays. For more information, access the brochure below:
