Police respond to medical emergency in local restaurant bathroom and make meth arrest

BEDFORD – A Bloomington man was arrested after Bedford Police officers and Bedford Fire Department first responders were alerted on Thursday, May 25th to a man having a seizure in the bathroom of Golden Corral.

When they arrived they found 44-year-old Jeremy Baker on his hands and knees with his pants down, sweating profusely and not responding to questions.

An IU LifeLine ambulance responded to the scene. While placing Baker on an ambulance cot, they found a black zip-up pouch under him. That pouch contained a glass smoking device that tested positive for crystal meth. A used syringe, a metal spoon and a cut can containing heroin were also found in the pouch.

Baker was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The information was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office and a warrant was issued for Baker’s arrest on charges of possession of meth and a narcotic drug, public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of a syringe.
