BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington South pulled away in the second half for a 5-0 victory over Bedford North Lawrence during boys high school soccer action on Tuesday.
Joe Degiorgio scored twice in the second half for the Panthers, who took advantage of their speed for an 18-2 advantage in shots.
“South has a solid team, as usual,” BNL coach Ryan Otis said. “They had speed up top, they were very skillful in probing our back line and sending through balls.”
Etienne Leykin and Tom Henry Berry scored to power South to a 2-0 lead at the half. After Degiorgio scored his two goals, Landon Ryner added the final tally.
“The boys fought hard, especially considering the heat,” Otis said. “Dan (Loudin-Magnuson) had several great saves that kept us in it. We know what we need to work on and will be better prepared for Saturday.”
The Stars (2-1) will visit Bloomington North on Saturday.
