COLUMBUS – A teen was arrested after a Columbus Police officer stopped him for driving nearly 100 miles per hour on State Road 11 in Bartholomew County early Tuesday morning.
A patrol supervisor saw the speeding car shortly after midnight. The officer pulled the vehicle over near State Road 11 and Spear Street.
Police say the driver, 19-year-old Evan W. Taylor, was intoxicated. Taylor failed several field sobriety tests and blew 0.16 percent on a breath test, twice the legal limit.
Taylor was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment, OWI with a blood-alcohol level of 0.15 or greater, and illegal consumption.
Taylor is being held at the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond, jail officials said.
