Ida Mae Jenkins, 87, of Bedford, passed away at 2:45 a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Autumn Trace in Bedford.
Born May 12, 1936, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Otto and Ruby (Fox) Warren. She married Joe Jenkins on April 2, 1966, and he survives.
She was a homemaker and attended the Momentum Church in Bedford. She enjoyed events at the Senior Citizens in Mitchell and loved to dance. She loved her children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and the residents and staff at Autumn Trace.
Survivors include her husband, Joe, of Bedford; two sons, William “Bill” Jones and fianceé, Sherry, and Jack Jones and wife, Karen, all of Bedford; four daughters, Susan Coomer (Mike), of Bedford, Cathy Speer, of Oolitic, Tammie Tomlinson, of Bedford, and Nelsa King (Gary), of Huron; sixteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn Sue McElroy, of OK; two brothers, Charles Warren, of AL and Eddie Warren, of Martinsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Sherri Fish, a sister, Lena New, and a grandson Jeff Coomer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Reno Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
