SEYMOUR – Bedford North Lawrence, with scores in the respected and excepted range, cast its shadow over Seymour during girls high school golf action on the front nine at Shadowood on Tuesday afternoon.
The No.14 Stars, paced by 3-over 39s from Chloe McFaddin and Kinleigh Root, carded a team total of 160, while the Owls posted 203.
McFaddin bounced back to her normal game with a birdie on the par-five fifth hole, and Root added a birdie on the sixth. The rest of BNL’s scoring came from Ellie Horton (40 with a birdie on the fifth) and Sammie Nusbaum (a career-best 42).
“Tonight was much better,” BNL coach Kori Johnston said, comparing the results to Monday’s match at Otis Park. “We played much more like ourselves.
“Sammie was playing with more confidence than I’ve seen so far this season. Ellie also played much more like herself. I’m very proud of her. She did a great job of recovering from bad shots and staying in a good head space throughout the round.
“Overall I’m proud of the girls for putting yesterday’s round behind us and starting fresh.”
BNL will return to action on Sept. 6 at Martinsville.
