SELLERSBURG – Bedford North Lawrence rallied from a two-goal deficit in the second half to salvage a 2-2 deadlock with Silver Creek during boys high school soccer action on Tuesday.
Noah Childers and Grant Beyers recorded the goals as BNL (2-2-1) ended a two-match losing streak.
“It was a tale of two games,” BNL coach Ryan Otis said. “We came out with decent intensity but didn’t have a good first touch and struggled to maintain possession. We had two unlucky bounces on the back line that resulted in goals.
“After the second goal we picked up the intensity and dominated the remainder of the game.”
Childers scored off Adriano Sullivan’s crossing pass with 24:17 left. Beyers converted the equalizing penalty kick with 11:49 remaining.
“In the second half we dominated possession, 50-50 balls and scoring chances,” Otis said. “I’m confident, if we had five more minutes, we would have won. We need to work on bringing intensity from the start and finishing. I’m glad to not pick up a loss, but we let a winnable game get away.”
Napoleon Lankford scored both goals for the Dragons.
BNL will host New Albany on Thursday.
