Patricia A. Fitzgerald, 76, of Bedford, passed away at 7:55 p.m., on Monday, August 28, at Stonebridge Health Campus.
Born December 8, 1946, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Virgil “Cotton” and Mary (Sipes) Pace. She married James Eugene Dougherty and he preceded her in death on November 5, 1995. She later married John Fitzgerald who also preceded her in death on April 27, 2010.
She was a seamstress for M. Fine & Sons until they closed and was a custodian for the First United Methodist Church in Bedford. Patty attended the First United Methodist Church and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Jackie Lipscomb; a sister, Diane Anderson and husband, Ned; a brother, Danny Pace, and wife, Carla; a sister-in-law, Shirley Pace; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy Stevens and wife, Ashley, Casey Smith, Hayden Smith, Michael Lipscomb, Seth Lipscomb, and wife, Brooke, Ethan Lipscomb, and fiancée, Kaitlyn Lewis; eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands, a brother, Nick Pace, and a son-in-law, Rob Lipscomb.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 1 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Chaplain Kelly Carson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
