BEDFORD – The Claude Akins Golf Memorial Classic was in full swing Saturday and continued through Sunday.
Along with the 18 set holes, there was an additional Golden Ticket Putt hole per round, where a randomly drawn person is given the chance to win $2,000 should they make the putt.
One of the names drawn Saturday was Laci Williams, a 16 year-old who has golfed for ten years.
Laci was drawn in 2022’s golf tournament putt too, and somehow her luck held out for this year as well.
While she did not make the shot, she was closer than last year’s attempt. With any luck, she’ll be drawn again next year to earn another shot at it.
Laci says that while she enjoys golf, “I usually only play with my dad, so I feel like it’s kind of a bond thing we have.”
