BEDFORD – A Bedford man faces drug charges after a Bedford Police officer stopped his vehicle for an equipment violation on Friday, September 8.
Police arrested 46-year-old Rickey Wessell on charges of possession of meth and marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The vehicle was stopped at the intersection of State Road 37 and 5th Street at 10:18 p.m.
While Wessell’s passenger was retrieving the vehicle registration from the glovebox the officer detected the odor of marijuana.
When asked about drugs in the vehicle, Wessell admitted there was a marijuana pipe under his seat and a “dope pipe” in the center console.
An officer found a Burger King bag under the driver seat that contained marijuana, a scale, a jar containing THC wax, and a vape containing THC.
Wessell then admitted there was meth in his pocket and in his right sock.
The female passenger was released from the scene and took possession of the vehicle. Wessell was transported to jail.
