BEDFORD – Bertha’s Mission 2023 annual Uncover Hunger Dinner coincides this year with the mission’s 10th anniversary. Held at the Bedford First Baptist Church from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m., the dinner will feature guest speakers, live music, and a meal as well as a live auction.
Ten years ago, the Mission held its very first fundraiser at the same church, and Janice Nickeo-Pendergrass said it was such a blessing to come back to where it began.
“We are hoping people want to become sponsors to help us continue the Great Commission of God to feed the people – it’s not about Janice or Bertha,” Janice insists, “It’s about the Great Commission in Matthew 25:35.”
Matthew 25:35 reads: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in”
Bertha’s Mission is a feeding ministry, an organization that supplies free meals to those in the community in need. As Janice says, “It’s about having a heart for the people.”
Dress is business casual, and guests are asked to RSVP for the dinner at 812-480-0085 or email Atalie Klumpp at arklumpp@gmail.com.
