SEYMOUR – Seymour scored twice in a 14-minute span to slip past Bedford North Lawrence 2-0 during girls high school soccer action on Thursday.
The Owls ended a scoreless standoff when freshman Rachel Lenart broke through with 3:21 left in the first half. The Owls (3-8-1, 1-2-1 in the Hoosier Hills Conference) added a key insurance goal as Ella Brock found the net with 30:56 left.
“We held them off until the last couple minutes of the first half,” BNL coach Bret Roberts said. “We had the ball on their end a lot of the first half as well. Britta Warren was able to get around their defense and had several shots on goal but was not able to get past their keeper.
“We tried a new formation and I think it worked well. Of course, I would have liked to have put one on the board, but I am happy with the low score and that we were able to hold them off for so long.”
BNL (3-7-0, 0-6-0 in the HHC) will host Salem on Tuesday.
