BLOOMINGTON – The Department of Natural Resources announced several upgrades are being done at Paynetown State Recreation Area.
Contractors have already started work on the following projects:
- Replacement of Comfort Station #1 in the electric campground.
- Installation of two additional pump-outs at the campground dump station.
- Rehab of the sewer systems for the campground, Beach House / Activity Center, and marina.
- Replacement of the large culverts underneath the entrance road.
Work on these projects is expected to be completed in early December. During construction, visitors may encounter traffic delays on the SRA entrance road and temporary facility closures.
Officials apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause, but these are much-needed projects that will greatly benefit the property in the long term.
