Leonard Denniston, 79, of Bedford, passed at 5:46 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2023, at the Indiana University Hospital in Bloomington.
Born July 11, 1944, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Berle and Sarah (Todd) Denniston. He married Sandra “Sandy” (Robertson) Ault on April 18, 2006, and she survives. He was retired from Shelby Trucking and attended Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include his wife Sandra, of Norman, four children, Todd Denniston of Norman, Reid Denniston and wife Jody of Bedford, Robert Ault and wife Kelly of Norman, Bill Ault and wife Sandy of Norman; granddaughter Allison Denniston, step-grandchildren, Nathan Rodman, Chelsea Matthews, and J.P., three great-grandchildren, Macy, Ainsley, and Parker; two sisters, Diane Moore and Betty Combs; mother of his children, Cynthia Denniston of Norman. He is preceded by his parents, great-granddaughter Briley, and two brothers, Gerald and Bill Denniston.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Dwight Kruger officiating. Burial will follow at Mitchell Cemetery in Monroe County. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to the time of service on Thursday, September 21, 2023.
