SEYMOUR – On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, Detectives from the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post arrested a 21-year-old Seymour Indiana man on charges of Possession of Child Pornography and Possession of False Government Identification following a search warrant at a Seymour residence.
The investigation began in July 2023 when a cyber tip was forwarded from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to the Indiana State Police Versailles Post. Through investigative techniques, detectives were able to determine that an individual at a residence on Peak Avenue in Seymour, Indiana, had child pornography. Detectives then identified potential suspect Samuel Diego-Nicolas, age 21.
On September 13, Indiana State Police Troopers and Detectives, with the assistance of the Seymour Police Department, served a search warrant at the residence. During the search, numerous false government identification cards were located. Diego-Nicolas was not initially found at the home. He was soon located at a second address in Seymour. Additional evidence of the crime of possession of child pornography was found when he was detained by detectives.
Samuel Diego-Nicolas was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail on a level four felony charge of Possession of Child Pornography and a misdemeanor charge of Possession of False Government Identification.
