John C. Jendrek, 86, of Bedford, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023. He was born May 24, 1937, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the son of Estelle C. (Evering) and John C. Jendrek.
He married Diane Plummer on November 1, 2008, and she survives.
John attended Catholic grade school and high school in Baltimore. John attended Drexel and Johns Hopkins Universities, graduating with a BS Degree in Engineering in 1967. John was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Florida Engineering Society since 1985.
John was honorably discharged from the Maryland Air National Guard and the Reserve United States Air Force on June 2, 1963.
John had worked for Bethlehem Steel, Rinker Industries, and Lehigh Cement in Florida. He retired from his own industrial maintenance company, Quality Maintenance, Inc., in 2011.
Surviving to cherish John’s memory are his wife, Diane; daughter, Diana Elliott; step-sons, Michael, Daniel and Chris McCory; grandchildren, Nicole Stewart, Heath Weller, Caleb, Mikayla and Cody McCory, Lane and Kaycie Selfridge, Ava and Braxton McCory, Austin Brewster and Tristan; great-grandchildren, Brianna Uth, Ariel Brewster, Pheonix McCory and Braelyn Stewart.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26 at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, Mitchell, with Fr. Jegan Peter and Deacon David Reising officiating. Burial will follow in Weddleville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the church with the Rosary being prayed at 10:30 a.m., also on September 26.
Donations in memory of John may be made to the Simon Bruté Society.
