KNOX CO. – A Knox Circuit Court jury found a Bicknell man guilty of child molesting and rape on Thursday following a three-day jury trial.
The jury of six women and six men took only seven minutes to find 24-year-old Andrew Derouin guilty of assaulting a 15-month-old child in September 2019.
Judge Monica Gilmore will sentence Derouin on October 27th.
Knox County Prosecutor Dirk Carnahan said Derouin was entrusted with the care of a 15-month-old child.
According to Carnahan, the victim’s mother left the room to take a shower. When she returned, she discovered her child had been injured. The child was then transported to the hospital and law enforcement were alerted.
