BEDFORD – White River Humane Society has reached capacity and has an urgent need for adoption applicants.
The shelter is over capacity and completely out of space to take in dogs due to overcrowding.
A generous donor is paying a portion of the adoption fees on select dogs that are ready and available for adoption, for a limited time. This will reduce the total cost of the dog and will help make room in the shelter for future animals in need.Â
The shelter cares for lost, abandoned and sometimes neglected animals and needs the community’s help to open their hearts and homes to these shelter pets.
For a limited time, select dogs are only $50 to adopt, and select cats are only $25.
What most people do not realize, is the adoption fees do not cover the total expenses the shelter incurs in preparing an animal for adoption. Because the shelter relies on donations, grants, and partnerships to keep its doors open, it is not in a position to simply waive all adoption fees. That’s where the generosity of this anonymous donor is paving the way to hopefully expedite adoptions during this limited time.
To view a list of available dogs, please visit www.WhiteRiverHumaneSociety.org/dogs and for a list of cats, please view www.WhiteRiverHumaneSociety.org/cats.
Additionally, they strive to keep this list updated on the White River Humane Society Facebook Page.
Interested applicants should complete an online adoption application. WRHS managers will review the adoption application to determine the best placement for the shelter animal.
Visitors are welcome at the shelter on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from Noon until 5:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from Noon until 4 p.m. White River Humane Society is located at 3511 Pumphouse Road in Bedford, IN 47421.Â
Financial donations are always needed to care for the animals.
