BEDFORD – Lawrence County Clerk Amy Voorhies and State Rep. Chris May (R-Bedford) is reminding eligible Hoosiers that Tuesday, October 10 is the deadline for voters to register for the upcoming 2023 Municipal Election.
The voter registration deadline is Oct. 10. Early in-person voting starts Oct. 23. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7, and polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“I encourage every eligible Hoosier to register to vote,” said Voorhies. “Voting is your right and your opportunity to participate in the election process. With the registration deadline approaching, it is so important Hoosiers take a few minutes to get online and get registered. Your vote matters.”
“Indiana depends on its citizens to participate in choosing who represents them in their government,” Rep. Chris May said. “I encourage all eligible Hoosiers to exercise their right to vote on or before Election Day.”
Hoosiers can visit IndianaVoters.com and quickly access a link to register to vote or check their voter registration record. The state’s website also provides voters with local polling locations and who’s on their ballot.
Hoosiers can also register to vote by visiting a county clerk’s office and a directory is available online at in.gov/courts.
To register, Indiana residents must be at least 18 years old on or before the upcoming election, have a valid Indiana Driver’s License or Indiana State Identification Card, be a citizen of the United States, have lived in the same precinct for at least 30 days before the next election, and not currently imprisoned after being convicted of a crime.
The Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
Not all Indiana counties/cities will be holding local elections.
