Robert L. Holmes (Gunny) of Odon, passed away on October 5 at Daviess County Hospital.
He served 20 years in the United States Marine Corps and worked at Crane Naval Center for over 20 years.
He loved to travel and is survived by his wife Sharry Holmes, sons Paul Michael Holmes (Patty) and
Wayne Holmes (Pat), and daughters Barbara Hopper and Charla Gilbert (Shawn). He also had many
grandkids, great-grandkids, great-great-grandkids, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Karl Holmes, brother David Holmes, and sisters Glenda Lucas and Sharon Pickering, and son Richard Holmes (Paula).
Visitation will be on October 21 at 2:00 p.m. with a short service following at 3:00 p.m. at Newberry Cornerstone Church.
