BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested on a warrant after Bedford Police officers were requested to investigate a report of a theft at Kindred Spirits on June 27, 2023.
Police arrested 24-year-old Jobe Sergent, on October 7, 2023, on a charge of theft under $750.
According to probable cause, on June 27th, Bedford Police officers were requested to Kindred Spirits at 702 Lincoln Avenue after a report of a theft.
The employee told police that Sergent had entered the store and removed a bottle of Jack Daniels from the shelf. The incident was captured on video. In the video, Sergent is seen walking down the aisle and shoving the bottle into his shorts. Sergent then looks directly into the security camera in that aisle. He then approaches the cashier and asks her where he could find the Hennessey. He approaches the Hennessey, removes a bottle, and places it in his shorts. He removes the Jack Daniels from his shorts, places it on the shelf in front of him, and then immediately leaves the store without paying for the alcohol a value of $81.
Police forwarded the information to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
