BEDFORD – A Mitchell woman faces drug charges after a Bedford Police officer noticed her slumped over the steering wheel of a red Dodge Grand Caravan parked at Revere’s Food & Fuel.
The officer approached the vehicle and saw a clear plastic baggie that had a glass smoking device with burnt meth residue.
The officer knocked on the window to wake 24-year-old Madison Asbell.
Asbell told police she had nothing illegal in the vehicle, however, canine Zazu alerted police to drugs in the vehicle.
Police seized the glass smoking device with meth residue, a baggie containing 17 grams of crystal meth, and a container with THC wax.
Asbell was arrested on charges of possession of meth and marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Asbell admitted officers had found her “speed” inside the vehicle and estimated there were a couple of grams inside the vehicle. She told police the meth was given to her by a friend and she did not purchase the drug.
