BEDFORD – A Springville woman was arrested on Saturday, October 8 after she refused to leave IU Health Bedford Hospital.
According to IU Health Police, officers were alerted at 4:42 a.m. by medical personnel that 53-year-old Laura Ann Mundy had been discharged from the emergency room but she was refusing to leave the hospital.
The officer went to the emergency room and was told Mundy was in the restroom. Once she exited the bathroom she was informed to gather her belongings and leave the hospital. The officer followed Mundy into the emergency treatment room and instead of retrieving her belongings, Mundy got into the bed and covered up with blankets. She was again informed she needed to leave the hospital or she would be detained. Mundy told the officer she was not going to leave.
Mundy was detained on a charge of criminal trespass.
