HENRYVILLE – Mitchell High School’s season came to an end on Saturday, as the Bluejackets were defeated in the Sectional 47 finals by Brownstown-Central in three consecutive sets.
The Braves were victorious 25-15, 25-10 and 25-10 to claim their second-straight sectional crown.
Earlier in the day, Mitchell beat Austin 3-0 to advance to the finals matchup, sweeping the Eagles 25-13, 25-8 and 25-8.
The Bluejackets finish their season with an overall record of 26-9 and a Patoka Lake Athletic Conference record of 5-1.
Brownstown-Central advanced to compete for the regional championship on Oct. 21, where they’ll take on North Decatur. Facing off on the other side of the bracket are North Posey and Linton-Stockton. The winning teams will face-off later in the evening for the championship.
