BEDFORD – Monday, the Bedford Board of Works and Safety approved the acceptance of a bid for a contract through Comcast for the city’s phone services.
The Comcast contract includes a one-time fee, and a monthly-reoccurring charge of $1,797.55 for the phone services.
The Comcast contract was chosen from a total of 3 bids through Comcast, Smithville Enterprise & Small Business Solutions, and HPC Internet Services.
Mayor Sam Craig claims service through Comcast should help if something happens to one of the city’s facilities.
In such a case, having phone service through an outside entity should ensure that city systems would be better fit to maintain functionality even if one of the facilities fails.
