COLUMBUS – A Washington, Indiana man was arrested on multiple charges after he attempted to flee from Columbus police officers on Saturday evening.
Officers spotted 58-year-old Anthony Duncan riding a bicycle near 11th and Union streets. The officers confirmed Duncan was wanted on an outstanding warrant and attempted to make contact with him, but Duncan fled.
He was spotted a short time later near a home in the 1400 block of Cottage Avenue. When Duncan saw the officers he took off running and was apprehended quickly.
During a search, police found drugs and drug paraphernalia in Duncan’s pockets.
Duncan was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on a Bartholomew County warrant, possession of meth and drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.
