LAWRENCE CO. – Last night at the October County Council meeting, the council approved Highway Superintendent Brandi Webb’s request for an additional $298,665 to fund the super-structure replacement of Bridge 36 on Locust Road.
Bridge 36 on Locust Road, just west of State Road 446 has been closed indefinitely since August. The 1999 bridge spans the South Fork of Leatherwood Creek.
The bridge was deemed structurally deficient in a past bridge inspection, but Brandi Webb’s update hints at the eventual re-opening.
