Woman finds herself behind bars after speeding on Hoosier Avenue

OOLITIC – An Orleans driver was arrested on Thursday, November 16th, after she was stopped for speeding on Hoosier Avenue in Oolitic.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Shaun Cabral and Oolitic Town Marshal James Harrington conducted the traffic stop. Upon approach to the vehicle, officers detected the odor of marijuana emitting from inside.

Additionally, Marshal Harrington’s canine partner Denny Joe alerted to drugs in the vehicle.

Jessica George

During a search of the vehicle, police found a small amount of meth in the front seat passenger area where the driver 37-year-old Jessica George was sitting.

Bedford Police Officer Taylor Daugherty was requested to the scene to search George. On her person, the officer found marijuana and meth along with two different pills, which George did not have a prescription for.

George was detained on charges of possession of meth, possession of marijuana, and two counts of possession of legend drugs.
