BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington District welcomes Probationary Trooper Robert T. Martin, who recently graduated from the 84th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy.
Probationary Trooper Martin’s graduation ceremony was conducted on December 21, 2023, at the Indiana Statehouse. He is now in the next phase of his training, a three-month field training, riding with veteran Troopers. The purpose of the field training is to put the training received throughout the formal academy into practical application. Upon successful completion of field training, each Trooper will be assigned a state police patrol vehicle and will begin solo patrol.
Probationary Trooper Martin is from Spencer and is a 2019 Owen Valley High School graduate. He was employed as a Laborer from 2020-2022 and returned to school, receiving an associate’s degree from Vincennes University. He completed the six-month-long ISP Recruit Academy, culminating with his graduation on December 21st.
