INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush will address the Governor and a joint session of the Indiana General Assembly for the annual State of the Judiciary.
The formal update on the work of the judicial branch will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern in the Indiana House of Representatives chamber.
The Chief Justice must provide lawmakers with an update on the “condition of the courts” according to Article 7, Section 3, of the Indiana Constitution. The 2024 address—Indiana Courts’ Return on Investment—will focus on how the judiciary is strengthening specialized courts, addressing rural needs, leveraging technology through innovation, and building public trust through outreach.
The address will be webcast live at courts.in.gov. Indiana Public Broadcasting Stations (IPBS) will also air the address.
