Thomas Joseph Burton, 65, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024.
Born on February 3, 1958. He was the son of Alfred Thomas and Erma Jo (Hendricks) Burton. Thomas worked as a roofer for many years. He was a graduate of Bloomington High School. He was a die-hard Dale Earnhardt fan and enjoyed race cars and dirt track racing.
Surviving to cherish the memory of Thomas are his three sons, Scott Burton (Jill) of TN, Andrew Bailey (Danielle) of Mitchell, IN, and Thomas Burton of TN; two daughters, Stephanie Burton of TN and Stacy Hillenburg of Ellettsville, IN; grandchildren; Kadence, Brayden, Mattilyn, Jackson, Farrah, Cole, Amelia, and four more grandchildren that are Stacy’s children and a sister, Debra Burton of Bedford, Alice Herrington of FL, and Brenda Hoshaw of FL.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Burton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford, with Pastor Reno Bates officiating. Burial will follow at the Burton Cemetery in Mitchell. Visiting hours are from 9:30 to the service time on Thursday at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel.
