CORYDON – Troopers with the Sellersburg Indiana State Police Post, All Crimes Policing (ACP) squad arrested two Harrison County residents on Friday, January 5, following an investigation and search.
As part of an unrelated investigation, the ACP troopers learned of an allegedly stolen trailer at a Lake Road Southeast residence. They also learned of possible drug activity at the same location. When the troopers drove past the residence, they could see a trailer matching the description and stopped to speak with the homeowner, 52-year-old John R. Hubbard.
John Hubbard permitted the officers to look at the trailer, which was confirmed stolen. The troopers contacted the trailer’s registered owner, who arrived and advised someone had stolen the trailer the prior night.
As part of the continuing investigation, the troopers learned that 37-year-old Kimberly Rae Cornett was also inside the residence, and officers learned that Cornett was wanted on a Harrison County warrant.
The officers requested and were granted a search warrant for the residence. As a result of the search, officers located Kimberly Cornett in the residence’s basement. They also discovered a stolen pistol and a stolen motorcycle. As the search continued, officers found numerous articles of drug paraphernalia and over 25 grams of methamphetamine packaged in five individual baggies, along with other drug-related items.
The two were arrested on the following charges and taken to the Harrison County Jail.
John Hubbard is facing a Level 2 felony of dealing meth and possession of stolen property, a level 3 felony of possession of meth, a Level 6 felony of possession of a legend drug, and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Kimberly Cornett is facing a Level 3 felony charge of possession of meth, a Level 5 felony charge of possession of stolen property, and a warrant out of Harrison County.
