ISP Drug investigation leads to two arrests for dealing meth

SPENCER CO. – After a three-month investigation consisting of the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section, Master Trooper Trey Lytton, Spencer County Sheriff’s Office, and the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, arrest warrants were issued in the Spencer County Circuit Court for 36-year-old Austin R. Adkisson and 32-year-old Justine S. Hayden for dealing methamphetamine, Level 2 felony.

On January 10, ISP Master Trooper Lytton and the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office located Adkisson on State Road 66, near Rockport, and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle he was a passenger in.

Adkisson was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Spencer County Jail. 

Officers then located Hayden at her residence in Chrisney and she was detained. 

While at the residence, officers developed probable cause of drug activity in the residence.  A search warrant was obtained through the Spencer County Circuit Court.  During the execution of the search warrant, approximately 103 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, and a controlled substance. 

Hayden was also transported to the Spencer County Jail. Both are being held without bond.

Adkisson is facing charges of dealing meth over ten grams, a Level 2 felony, possession of meth over 28 grams, a Level 3 felony; maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony and possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor; possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor and on a warrant on two counts of dealing meth over ten grams, a Level 2 felony.

Hayden is facing charges of dealing meth over ten grams, a Level 2 felony, possession of meth over 28 grams, a Level 3 felony; maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony; possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor, possession of marijuana, a Class C misdemeanor and on a warrant for dealing in meth over ten grams, a Level 2 felony.

Assisting Master Trooper Trey Lytton in the investigation were Trooper Jacob Lauer, the ISP Drug Enforcement Section, Perry County Sheriff’s Department, and Spencer County Sheriff’s Department.
