MITCHELL – Everyone loves magic – Join the Mitchell Opera House on January 27th at 7 p.m. for the one and only Dave’s Magic Show.
Dave Cottrell is a magician, comedian, and banjo player from Simpsonville, Kentucky. He has
been entertaining for most of his life. His first magic show was for his 6th grade class at Simpsonville Elementary in Kentucky in 1971. Since then, he has performed over much of the United States, Japan, and Germany.
Dave has performed for two US presidents, and his bluegrass band, Kentucky Blue, is a three-time nominee for SPBMA Mid-West entertaining bluegrass band of the year. Winning numerous magic contests and awards certainly speaks to his skills as a magician.
In 2001, he received a Presidential Citation from the President of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, “Noting Dave’s service and good works for the advancement and excellence in the Art of Magic and fine works to be congratulated worldwide.”
He has opened and performed shows with David Copperfield, Lance Burton, Jerry Reed, George Strait, Allison Krauss, and many other stars.
You may have seen Dave in the past performing at one of the Kentucky State Parks on
KET or at the Kentucky State Fair. Dave’s one-hour magic show is filled with amazing Knock-Your-Socks-Off magic and contains comedy, mystery, laughter, and good, clean fun for all ages. The stage show
contains live animals, lots of audience participation, and a blazing five-string banjo.
Dave’s “down home” Kentucky style of humor helps make for an entertaining show that people will remember and talk about for the rest of their lives.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for kids 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at mitchelloperahouse.com or can also be purchased with cash or check only at Mitchell’s ACE or the ticket booth the night of the event with cash, check, or card.
Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. Mitchell Opera House is handicap accessible. Food and drinks are not permitted in the auditorium. All seating is first come, first served.
