David Rex Mundy, 80, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024, at his residence.
Born September 6, 1943, in Bedford, he was the son of Calvin and Beatrice (Case) Mundy. He married Marsha Kay Bennett on September 25, 1983, and she survived.
David was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the Indiana National Guard, and a member of the American Legion Post No. 250. He worked as a machine operator for Sabin. David enjoyed riding horses and shooting guns. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Kay Mundy of Mitchell; children, Dennis R. Mundy of Mitchell and Joshua (Shannon) Cook of Mitchell; grandchildren, Emma Cook, Madison Cook, Dennis “Cody” Mundy, Mikayla Mundy, and Dylan Mundy; great-grandchildren, Amiha Kay Mundy, Wyatt Mundy, and Railyn Mundy; and sister, Judy Asbery of Mitchell.
His parents, son Steven Mundy, and siblings, Joe Mundy, Jerry Mundy, Kay Asbery, and Amy Beckett, preceded him in death.
The graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 5, at Lawrenceport Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
