SPENCER COUNTY- Authorities in Spencer County have released new information after a Thursday morning crash that killed two people.
WBIW reported that the crash happened around 6 a.m. on US 231, just south of SR 162.
On Thursday afternoon, the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as 56-year-old Philip Ebelhar of Chrisney and 20-year-old Breah Cummings of Eckerty.
The sheriff’s office states the preliminary investigation indicates that Ebelhar was traveling north in the southbound lanes.
They say Cummings was traveling southbound in the passing lane, passing a semi tractor-trailer, when Ebelhar’s truck collided head-on with her car.
Both Ebelhar and Cummings were pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff’s office says their families have been notified.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
