MONROE CO. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors LP is scheduled to conduct a right turn lane closure from eastbound State Road 46 to southbound Smith Road on or after Friday, February 16, to begin intersection improvement work in Bloomington.
The right turn lane closure is expected to last until mid-May. Drivers will be able to utilize the driving lane of eastbound S.R. 46 to turn onto southbound Smith Road while work is in progress. Pedestrian access will be limited in the area. Additional work will take place at the intersection of S.R. 46 and Smith Road at a later time and more information will be provided.
This contract was awarded to Milestone Contractors in May 2023. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
