VINCENNES – Starting this week, construction crews will begin laying the foundation for the state-of-the-art Center for Health Sciences and Active Center at Vincennes University.
The University held a ceremonial groundbreaking on Monday, Feb. 19, for the new $33.9 million Center for Health Sciences and Active Learning.
The two-story, 72,000-square-foot building will replace an aging facility half its size.
The innovative center promises to serve as a beacon of modernity and excellence, offering state-of-the-art facilities where students can cultivate their skills and knowledge amidst dynamic learning environments. With a focus on active learning, the center promises to nurture academic achievement and promote hands-on, real-world experiences that prepare students for in-demand and rewarding careers.
The building, in the middle of Vincennes University’s campus, on the site of the former Harrison Hall on Indianapolis Avenue, will feature more than 20 labs and classrooms for various health science programs and a gathering place for all students with areas for studying and relaxing, including a rooftop terrace.
Vincennes University officials are hoping to have students in the building for the 2025-26 academic year.
