PLYMOUTH, IN – Four Marian University Ancilla College (MUAC) student-athletes, including Bedford’s Reese Hamblen, have qualified to compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association’s (NJCAA) National Wrestling Championships, February 28 – March 3 in Council Bluffs, IA.
The four MUAC wrestlers competing at the NJCAA Nationals are:
- Christopher (Chris) Bullock, from New Palestine, is a second-year student.
- Bryan Chavero, from Indianapolis, is a second-year student.
- Reese Hamblen, from Bedford, is a second-year student.
- Dennis Weston, from Merrillville, is a first-year student.
Hamblen and Weston were also named Academic All-American as the district coaches
voted Bullock MUAC’s first District Outstanding Wrestler.

Your dedication, hard work, and perseverance have paid off as you’ve earned your spot in the NJCAA National Wrestling Championships,” said Mark Line, Marian University’s Ancilla College wrestling coach. “Your commitment to excellence is truly inspiring, and we couldn’t be prouder to have you represent our Marian Chargers team on the national stage.”
In the last five years, Marian University’s Ancilla College has had:
- Fourteen wrestlers qualify for NJCAA Nationals, with four being the top quality in a year.
- Eighteen Academic All-American wrestlers.
Ancilla’s team will be among 320 wrestlers competing in the national competition.
