Joseph ‘Joe’ Garofola Jr., 91, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born on August 21, 1932, he was the son of Joseph and Mary Teresa (Sissino) Garofola. He married Patricia Srygley on June 22, 1957, and she passed on August 27, 2013.
Joe worked for Indiana Limestone as a supervisor for 41 years. He graduated from Oolitic High School and was a St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church member.
Joe is survived by two sons, Timothy (Cathy) Garofola and Tracy (Teresa) Garofola; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Tina Marie, two brothers, Tony Garofola and Frank Garofola, and two sisters, Mary Francis Mosier and Fannie White.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with Father Jegan Peter and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes.
