MADISON CO. – On Wednesday, February 28th, troopers from the Pendleton Post worked in conjunction with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department in New Jersey to locate and arrest a Pendleton man who was wanted on a warrant for child pornography.
Officers received information that the suspect, Robert Flynn, 70, of Ridgewood, New Jersey, was residing in the 6000 block of Woodchuck Drive, Pendleton.
At approximately 9:45 p.m., Trooper Blake Stephenson and other members of the Pendleton District went to the address to serve the arrest warrant. When officers arrived at the residence, they knocked on the front door. Flynn noticed officers and ran out the rear of the residence. Officers waiting behind the residence attempted to take Flynn into custody without incident. However, Flynn allegedly became physically resistant, so one of the troopers deployed a department-issued TASER to gain control of Flynn and prevent further use of force.
Flynn was checked out by EMS and transported to St. Vincent Anderson Hospital. After being medically cleared, Trooper Blake Stephenson transported Flynn to the Madison County Jail without further incident on charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and possession of child pornography. No officers were injured during the altercation.
Trooper Blake Stephenson was assisted by Sergeant Nick Albrecht, Sergeant Ron Huff, Trooper Clayton Fox, Trooper Hanna McClure, Trooper Matt Redmon, Trooper Blake Stephenson, and Trooper Devin Walsh.
