LAWRENCE COUNTY- Priscilla Terrell is the Environmental Health/Food Protection Specialist in Lawrence County. She inspects and ensures compliance with state regulations from every establishment that serves food or beverages, schools, and also tattoo parlors in the county.
Terrell comes from a diverse professional background. She has her CNA certification, spent 10 years birthing sows, and worked for a year in an emergency room. Priscilla feels as though all of her experience has come full circle in that she is still “getting the best out of life” at work and helping others.
Priscilla works hard to ensure the citizens of Lawrence County are well looked after. “Public safety is first and foremost,” she said. On top of the over 240 brick-and-mortar locations she inspects, mobile and temporary vendors are also her responsibility. It is imperative the guidelines are followed to ensure clean, sanitary establishments. Her inspections happen at least once a year at random.
Thank you, Priscilla, for helping to keep Lawrence County safe. When asked what is her favorite part of the job, “When someone thanks me for an inspection, for making their business better.” It’s definitely safe to say Terrell has all of our best interests at heart and will for some time to come.
