MONROE CO. – On Saturday, March 2, at 7:57 p.m., the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash at Chambers Pike and Wayport Road.
Upon arrival, deputies located a vehicle with a single occupant. The individual was later pronounced dead on the scene by the Monroe County Coroner.
According to police, the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason.
The driver’s identity is being withheld while the Monroe County Coroner‘s Office works to make the proper notifications.
Police were assisted by the Monroe County Coroner‘s Office, Monroe Fire Protection District, and IU
Health Ambulance Service.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office sends its condolences to all the families and community members
affected by this tragedy.
