BEDFORD – A Bedford man was detained on a theft charge after Bedford Police officers investigated a theft report from Walmart on June 15, 2023.
Police learned a male had entered the store and walked out without paying for merchandise he had concealed in a duffle bag the night before.
On June 16th the same male returned to the store, removed tags from merchandise, and concealed the items into two duffle bags that he selected from the sales floor. He then left the store carrying the two duffle bags.
The man was later identified by his tattoos as 33-year-old Cody Keefe.
The total amount stolen by Keefe was $487.46.
Keefe denied the allegations and refused to speak to police without an attorney.
The information was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office and a warrant was issued for Keefe’s arrest.
