INDIANA – Today, Rep. Jim Banks announced his office will host the 2024 Service Academy Day at the Indiana Air National Guard Base on Saturday, April 13th.
Students can meet with officials from the service academies and the Third Congressional District Service Academy Advisory Board.
“One of the best parts of my job is nominating highly motivated and patriotic Hoosiers to our nation’s prestigious military academies. I’m grateful for the parents and students who take time out of their weekend to learn more about how they can serve our nation,” said Rep. Jim Banks.
Service Academy Nominations are highly competitive, and Service Academy Day helps give direction to students who hope to gain a nomination from the Congressman.
The five service academies include:
- United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y.
- United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
- United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn.
- United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y.
- United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The event will be held at the 122nd Fighter Wing, Indiana Air National Guard Base, 3005 W. Ferguson Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46809.
Attendees may enter the base via the security entrance just east of the airport beginning at 12:00 p.m. The event will start promptly at 1:00 p.m.. To expedite security at the gate, all persons attending must RSVP to our office by Friday, April 3, 2024.

Scholarships to a Service Academy are valued at $400,000 for a student. The Service Academy Application Deadline for the Class of 2029 (high school class 2025 or later) is Friday, October 4, 2024. Click here or visit the Congressman’s website to view the application.
