INDIANAPOLIS — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) enforces billions of dollars every year in combined federal administrative, civil judicial penalties and criminal fines. The Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s upcoming Environmental Permitting and Reporting Conference, which takes place virtually or virtually on April 17-18 in downtown Indianapolis, is designed to help Hoosier companies avoid those penalties.
“Our conference will get attendees caught up and well-informed on the reporting issues impacting Hoosier companies today,” says Greg Ellis, Indiana Chamber vice president of energy, environmental affairs, and federal relations. “This is a vital training that’s ideal for all those who deal with air and water permitting issues.”
The featured session is titled “Air Compliance Hot Topics and Lessons Learned,” and speakers from KERAMIDA, Inc. and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management will present it. This is topical as the EPA recently finalized a reduction in the PM 2.5 ambient standard. In July 2023, the EPA also proposed changes to its Air Emissions Reporting Rule, and the potential to impact a wide variety of Indiana facilities will be discussed along with strategies to mitigate these impacts.
Other topics include air, water, and waste permitting, as well as self-disclosure reporting. Stormwater issues, spill prevention, sustainability, and much more will be discussed.
