INDIANA – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and Indiana State Police (ISP) encourage drivers to plan ahead for the impending solar eclipse on Monday, April 8.
Indiana will play a pivotal role in hosting eclipse enthusiasts, who will flock to the Hoosier State to catch a glimpse of this once-in-a-lifetime event.
The eclipse will be visible over a large portion of the state, with the path of totality spanning from Evansville to the outskirts of Fort Wayne.
Increased traffic and congestion are expected as residents and tourists make their way to viewing destinations. To ensure a smooth trip near the Indianapolis area, INDOT and ISP urge drivers to plan and prepare for potential travel impacts before, during, and after the eclipse. Monitor traffic conditions via INDOT’s TrafficWise map at 511in.org.
